Dear CUPA Community,

Happy Friday! I hope this message finds you all safe and well. It’s still hard for me to believe that it’s already July, and I’m
sure everyone shares the feeling that something is missing from this summer. However, I’m grateful that our community
remains supportive and engaged, even during these challenging times.
Although the situation hasn’t really changed too much, the Board thought it was important to still check-in with our
members and to provide some timelines and clarify expectations.

● The Board met virtually last week to discuss all of this and to construct a plan moving forward. We continue to
monitor the latest updates and our Director of Operations, Liz Anderson, has been a tremendous help to
communicate with other organizations across the country about best practices and to prepare for when we might
eventually return to play.

● The summer league schedule has now officially been cancelled. The summary of our reasoning is consistent
with the same conclusions that we came to in May, given that the landscape has not changed much at all. Our
intention is now to target September 1 as the next possible time to resume activities (such as our youth and adult
fall leagues), but that will come after further considerations.

● To help set expectations, here is a timeline for our next update. The Board will meet in early August to evaluate
the situation. Out of that meeting, the goal would be to provide an update to our members by August 15th as to
whether we will resume activities in September or extend the holding period.

● As a reminder, these decisions mean that all CUPA activities, which includes summer leagues, CUSP (YCC)
team activities and tournaments, YUC practices or games, and any other sanctioned CUPA events, are
suspended. We recognize that we don't oversee every activity related to ultimate in our area and we highly
encourage everyone to take the same caution that we are at this time.

We appreciate everyone’s continued understanding at this time. We are lucky to have such a passionate and supportive
community, and we hope that everyone has been able to find other ways to stay active and connected. If there’s anything
else that you need from us, don’t hesitate to reach out. Enjoy the rest of the summer and we will be in touch soon!

Thanks,
Ryan Gorman
